Mama Nunz opened 1952 by Frankie and JoRuth Cancilla. It was then passed down to Nunzio who kept the same great tasting food. Items have since been added, but everything is still handmade with love. Whether you are looking for some biscuits and gravy for breakfast, or a pizza, mostacolli, salad, sandwich, steak, or bbq, Mama Nunz is the place to go. The portions are rather large so come on an empty stomach and enjoy the friendly atmosphere and great food! We promise we’ll rock your taste buds!.

The food here is from scratch, homemade, so it is different than what you receive from a chain. It is delicious and far from horrible, but no, not five star. The owners are regular people, providing a welcoming atmosphere, but this is a small town place, so they do talk to you a lot.

Seriously THE best red sauce we have EVER tasted! Pasta is unbelievable. The calzones are out of this world. Our first time going there was on Saturday, and we went right back on Tuesday. Now we are thinking of excuses to get back over there even though it is a two hour drive from our house. The owner makes the dough, tomato and BBQ sauce, and five different salad dressings from scratch. He also smokes brisket on site. The food is better here than from any restaurant where you would pay twice as much.

we had driven by her many times so tonight decided to try it for our 36th anniversary. What a great surprise !! The lasagna & baked spaghetti was awesome !!!! Mama herself was there along with other family and they all made us feel so welcome . They took time to explain all of the home cooked foods , the extra efforts put into the menu. We cant wait to go back because we have so many more things we want to try. And Thanks for the chocolate cake for our anniversary !!

I think you are the racist, carlos. If I went to the third world hellhole that you came from and criticized the rice and beans and goat meat, you would probably be offended, too. I have eaten there several times and was always happy with the food and service. In fact, I think I will go have a late lunch there today.

The food was delicious and the service was phenomenal! A large group of us came pretty late at night and they were more than willing to accommodate us. Not a single one of us had issues with the meal from the salads to the pasta! You can tell this restaurant has homemade foods that they take pride in making/serving. Loved the family atmosphere. Would definitely come back!

Our family was in town visiting for the night and we are so happy we picked Mama Nunz to stop and grab a bite from. The atmosphere is laid back and very welcoming. The staff was nothing but friendly and they took the time to tell us the history of the family business. Ordered the manicotti and was not disappointed. It was so delicious. Loved everything about this establishment and I would recommend to anyone visiting or passing through.

Mama Nunz is an excellent restaurant and my entire family loves the food and the environment is very welcoming. You feel right at home and Nunzio, the owner and chef, is a very kind man and loyal to his community. I have been going here with my family since we moved locally to the area and have always felt welcomed and the food is great. I hope this restaurant stays around for many more generations to enjoy. I encourage all to stop in and enjoy a meal and take in the friendly environment.

I see that there are a couple of comments in response to my post of my experience in this place. They are obviously racist comments in defense of the racist owner Nunzio. I stand by my original post. I felt sorry for nunzios mother that came to apologized for his ignorant son.

Great food the best brisket I have ever eaten anywhere; I do a lot of traveling and have eaten brisket from coast to coast including other countries his brisket is fabulous moist and very tender don’t even need a sauce or barbecue sauce with this the meat stands alone . And my wife were so impressed that we ended up buying brisket to take home . I go to Greencastle about once a month or twice a month this will be my new hit spot to eat brisket . The owner on the staff was friendly courteous kind very caring loving people that take care of their customers what better can you ask for .

This restaurant was for sale and closed up! I contacted Groupon about it 6 months ago, but they still continue to sell a Groupon for it. I would do some homework prior to wasting my $$.
